Red 2018 Toyota CamryThe 2018 Camry is a wonderful upgrade to an already fantastic vehicle. With the introduction of some interior and exterior style changes, a few hybrid options, and the cutting-edge safety technologies that you expect from a modern Toyota, the new Camry has lots to offer. These are some of the features found in this midsize car.

Interior and Exterior Styling

The new Camry is much sportier than older models. The XSE, in particular, has a sleek design punctuated by a chiseled body and sport side rocker panels. The new gloss-black grille is the most eye-catching part of the exterior, and drivers have the option of upgrading to an available sport mesh insert for a more aggressive look. You can also opt for the available dual exhaust system with quad chrome tips.

The interior of the new Camry is just as compelling. With the XSE trim, you can add a panoramic roof with a front power tilt/slide moonroof. Red leather-trimmed seats are also available. Other options include steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters, leather trim and contrast stitching on the redesigned seats, and an optional two-tone paint job with a midnight black metallic roof.

Standard Toyota Safety Sense P

All 2018 Camrys come with Standard Toyota Safety Sense P technologies. This includes the following features:

  • Pre-collision system with pedestrian detection
  • Lane departure alert with steering assist
  • Automatic high beams
  • Dynamic radar cruise control

In addition to these standards, the 2018 Camry offers an available bird’s eye camera with perimeter scan and intelligent clearance sonar with rear cross-traffic braking. This suite of technologies has helped make the 2018 Camry a notably safe car. The NHTSA awarded the 2018 Camry a 5-Star Overall Safety Rating.

A Hybrid Engine

The new Camry is available in seven gasoline-only trims and three hybrid trims. The hybrid Dynamic Force 4-cylinder engine, coupled with an electric motor and continuously variable transmission system, allows the Camry hybrid model to deliver 51 miles per gallon in the city and 53 on the highway. The Hybrid LE, Hybrid SE, and Hybrid XLE come with this engine.

Higher-Power and Higher-Torque Options

If you prefer a gasoline-only engine, Toyota has two options for the new Camry: A 2.5-liter Dynamic Force 4-cylinder and a 3.5-liter V-6, which is new for the 2018 model. On the LE, XLE, SE, and XSE trims, the 2.5-liter delivers 28 miles per gallon in the city and 39 on the highway. The L is a bit more efficient with the same 2.5-liter engine, delivering 29 miles per gallon in the city and 41 on the highway.

The V-6 option is exclusive to the XLE V-6 and XSE V-6 trims. This engine gets 22 miles per gallon in the city and roughly 32 miles per gallon on the highway. It produces 301 horsepower in both models.

Toyota has also added a direct shift 8-speed electronically controlled automatic transmission as a new feature of the 2018’s upgraded powertrain. This transmission lets drivers switch between eco, normal, and sport driving modes to balance efficiency and performance.

The new Camry is impressive, and the hybrid trims give drivers lots of flexibility to build a safe and sporty or safe and efficient vehicle. Check out the options available today at our dealership.
