EV Charging

Each Toyota Plug-in Hybrid and EV will have Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 charging capabilities. Level 1 will be your general charging unit. You can replenish battery power by plugging your vehicle into a typical outlet you'd find in your garage. And while this is the most convenient, it will take the longest to charge. You're looking at about 50 hours (4 miles per hour) from a low light to 100 percent charge.

Level 2 charging kicks things up a notch. And while it's not as easy as plugging into your home electric outlet, it can be. Level 2 charging requires professional installation. And it will replenish your battery from low light to 100 percent in about 9 and a half hours-which is just under 20 miles per hour.

Level 3 charging is reserved for public charging stations. These locations (thousands located throughout the nation-and growing) will recharge your vehicle from low light to 80 percent in less than an hour-which is about 3 miles per minute.
