More Info
Meet the 2026 Toyota Corolla Cross, a subcompact SUV that merges the best features of its sedan brother with the utility of an SUV. The Corolla Cross is inexpensive to buy, economical to drive, and sharply styled with modern flourishes. A gas-powered engine provides standard power, but the Toyota Corolla Cross hybrid powertrain boosts power and efficiency, adding excitement to your Tacoma commute. Add in the expansive cargo room behind the second row, and you have a complete SUV ready for any adventure.
What's New for 2026: Design, Tech & Interior Upgrades
Design refreshes for the 2026 Corolla Cross include a new grille pattern and the addition of Cavalry Blue to the exterior color options. The Corolla Cross gas-only XLE and hybrid-powered XSE trims roll on newly designed 18-inch alloys. The Corolla Cross hybrid SE and XSE have two-tone exteriors with a black roof.
Inside, the Corolla Cross gets a new console design with an available 10.5-inch infotainment display. An optional cold-weather package adds a heated steering wheel and heated front seats to warm you up in the chilly Tacoma winters. Corolla Cross AWD models come standard with the cold-weather package.
Powertrain, Hybrid Performance & Fuel Economy
You can choose a Corolla Cross hybrid or a gasoline-only powertrain. The Corolla Cross gasoline engine is a 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder engine that makes 169 horsepower and 151 lb-ft of torque. That's plenty of power to merge quickly onto I-5 on your way to Seattle. This powertrain earns an EPA-estimated 31 mpg on Tacoma surface roads and 33 mpg on Washington highways.
The Corolla Cross hybrid model features a 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder engine that produces 150 horsepower and 139 lb-ft of torque on its own. All-wheel drive comes standard, and three electric motors boost power to 196 total system horsepower.
Interior Space, Comfort, and Cargo Versatility
Toyota equipped its Corolla Cross interior with similar cabin materials, layout, technology, and convenience features found in its popular Corolla sedan. Lower trims have premium cloth, while upper models feature SofTex-trimmed upholstery, leather-trimmed steering wheels that heat, and heated front seats.
The Corolla Cross rear seat has more legroom than the sedan version and 17 cubic feet of cargo space behind the second row. Folding the rear seat flat opens up 44 cubic feet of space. The 60/40 split-folding back seat adds versatility to your cargo/passenger configurations. You can fold one side flat to accommodate longer items and still fit two passengers in the second row.
Safety Features and Toyota Safety Sense 3.0
Toyota's commitment to safety continues. The Corolla Cross comes with the Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 suite of driver assistance technologies. Standard systems include adaptive cruise control that helps keep your Corolla Cross at a preset speed and distance in Tacoma traffic. This system automatically slows you down as the traffic ahead slows, even to a complete stop. The ACC will automatically return you to your presets once the way forward is clear. Other systems, like automatic emergency braking and lane departure warning, provide more confident driving.
